Cosmetic Dentist Convicted Of Assault

A top dentist was ordered to pay over £1,500 in costs and compensation after being convicted of assaulting a teenager earlier this month.

Cosmetic dentistry specialist Dr Robert Wright, who runs a dental implant clinic in London, was summoned to Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court where it was head how he lost his temper with a 16-year-old boy and ended up kicking him a number of times in the backs of his legs.

The incident took place on September 3, 2008 in the car park of The Wildernesse School in Sevenoaks, Kent, where Dr Wright was teaching his son Adam how to drive.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, laughed with two of his friends at the learner driver who constantly stalled the car.

In response to the mocking, Wright got out of the car and told the boy to follow him towards the bushes. Once they were both out of sight, he grabbed hold of the boy by the arm and gave two or three kicks to the back of his legs.

Wright, 58, denied the assault charge, saying that he and his son had been provoked and that only wanted to give the youngsters "a piece of his mind".

However, the London-based dentist was convicted and ordered to pay £465 in costs and compensation for the attack, and a further £1,150 for wasted court costs after a previous trial had to be stopped because of evidence negligence.

Dr Wright’s Dental Implant London clinic specialises in aesthetic, implant and reconstructive dentistry .
