General Dental Council Celebrates 1st Birthday Of eGDC

Thu, 24 Dec 2009

The General Dental Council (GDC) is celebrating the first birthday of eGDC – the organisation’s online registration portal.

To mark the occasion, the Council has outlined the benefits of the eGDC site (gdc-uk.net/eGDC), which is designed to make things as easy as possible for busy registrants to keep on top of GDC registration requirements at the click of a button.

The site adds up dentists’ continuing professional development (CPD) hours and allows them to access information efficiently. It also helps dentists save money by removing the need for traditional post and reducing admin costs.

Anne Gerulat, processing manager of the organisation, said: "For those dental professionals looking to use it for submitting your CPD hours, eGDC will show all of your CPD hours, even if that information has previously been submitted on a paper form."

The GDC regulates dental professionals in the UK. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists working must be registered with the organisation in order to work in Britain’s dental industry.
